1. Cite some scenarios to justify that global warming and climate change is caused by human activities. Support your answer.

        Living entails survival and survival means coping to the extreme and rapid change of the aspects around us. Our planet is our home to where we work and survive. Our quotidian experiences may vary but all of us strive with the same reason and purpose- to live. Upon nestling in this world, we go through a lot of refinements and developments which led to the discovery of things that help us live a convenient and easy life. But there cases that in order to survive life, we gradually kill our planet which will later kill us as well.

2. Why is it that there is global warming and climate change? What is the reason behind this risks?

    We drive our cars, motorcycles, buses and track loads for life purposes and in order to maneuver these carriers for transportation, we need fuel - a fossil fuel. This will be burnt resulting to the emission different air pollution particles, two of these are aerosols and black carbon pollution which is the soot. We also have power plants that are operating to support a quality life for individuals which also burn fuels. With these black carbon emissions and the extreme demand for human to have cars, motorcycles and other vehicles, it greatly affect the Earth's atmospheric composition which led to global warming and climate change. Another example of a human activity that affect global warming and climate is deforestation, deforestation is an act of irresponsibility because cutting tress and not replacing it. The trees helps in maintaining the ideal Earth's temperature.

3. Specify a local community undertaking or practice concerning environmental sustainability.

        Here in Sitio Naghalin, Brgy. Novallas Tanjay City, we are undertaking or practicing sustainability. In our everyday life, we don't usually depend on the goods and services in the central areas where industrialization is manifested. Here, we plant vegetables, crops and fruit-bearing trees in order for us to spend less money buying foods outside and to stay healthy. We undergo the process of planting, harvesting and then planting again so that there is a continuous support for food. We also take good care of our carabaos and cattle as they aid us in toiling our land fields. With simple act, I think we are exercising sustainability.

4. A mountain resort has been operating in a tropical virgin forest which is classified also as a protected area by the government and is deemed illegal. What could be the possible impacts in ground water/river waters, soil, air and vegetation of this mountain resort if it continues to operate illegally for say, within 5 years. Justify your answers. 

 

        It is very clear that there will be a destruction of natural resources if this resort will continue to operate illegally . The ground water/river waters will be polluted because of the urine and other liquids that pollutes the water, and may be there will be instances that the people in that resort will just throw their garbage anywhere which affect the soil, air and vegetation when these thrown garbage disperse.

5. In your own idea, do you think the dying Banica River in Dumaguete can still be rehabilitated to give its full glory? Why or why not?
 

        In the scheme of rehabilitation, it requires continuous action, support and coordination. A full glory of Banica River can be attained only if the local government will really give its full blast of support and action and the community will coordinate. It is always about giving service. Unfortunately, right now, it is not possible since the province is facing a health crisis.

        But one thing that I could say about rehabilitation and to those people who are the main subjects for this act of enlightenment is this, "A dream will always be a dream if there's no work because I believe that what lies between now and success is a constant labor". With no action, this entire thought of rehabilitating Banica River is just like a student aiming to be successful person, but she/he is not doing something to achieve that goal.
