Sudoku strategy tips

  • Begin by looking for rows, columns, or blocks that already have several numbers. It’s easier to spot missing numbers in these areas.

  • Find cells where only one number can fit (often called “naked singles”). These are the easiest to fill in.

  • For each empty cell, list the possible numbers by eliminating those already present in its row, column, and block.

  • Work through the puzzle gradually. Focus on one area at a time rather than trying to solve everything at once.

  • Use the 'Notes' function to show small numbers in a cell representing possible candidates.
