Does Freedom Still Lies Await?

A sombre song fills in the room
Of lark encaged down in its tomb
Did God push it behind this gate?
Does freedom still lies await?

No way to run, no way to flee
'Till when it suffers? Let it free
Did God curse it- this blurry fate?
Does freedom still lies await?

Its dream to rise, to fly again
Soon it will vanish, soon will end
It can't endure His fevered hate
Does freedom still lies await?

Form: KYRIELLE
Description: COMPLETE KYRIELLE DESCRIPTION

Kyrielle

This was once a very popular French form and dates from the Middle Ages. It is written in quatrains (four lines of poetry) which includes a Refrain B, (A repeat line, phrase, or word), and as is normal with French poetry it is syllabic (in this case eight syllables, English - "Tetrameter") to make up a quatrain rhyming thus:
a. a. b. B..... c. c. b. B... etc.
Each quatrain finishing with the same line, phrase or word (Refrain).
